From KWTV 9 News online here in Oklahoma City this online story includes an Earthquake this morning (12/12/09) as well as the Earthquake that hit Arcadia (Just north of todays epicenter) that happened yesterday.

Spencer Area Records 3.1 Magnitude Earthquake Saturday Morning

OKLAHOMA COUNTY — The United States Geologic Society confirmed an early morning earthquake near Spencer and Jones.

At 5:34 a.m., a 3.1 magnitude quake was felt by residents in that area. No damage has been reported.

On Friday, there was a 2.8 magnitude earthquake recorded at Arcadia.

UPDATED 12/17/09

Most recently the eastern part of Oklahoma county (Specifically in the Jones area) has received what can be called a “Swarm ” of earthquakes that the USGS says they cannot explain. So someone please tell me why none of the News stations in town have launched their OWN investigation into why these earthquakes keep happening? They investigate it elsewhere down in Texas, Nevada, California, New York and elsewhere, so why not here? Could it be out of fear of retribution of the likes of Chesapeake, Devon Energy, Phillips 66 etc etc? Who knows. But one thing is for sure it keeps happening & it appears to be getting worse over time. So in the short term here I’ve decided to expose some information that many folks here would probably rather ignore.

First off, The major areas for earthquakes in Oklahoma include the fault line between Norman and Pauls Valley, the Canadian County area, including El Reno and Mustang, and the Arkoma basin area in the southeastern part of the state. The fault between Norman and Pauls Valley is the most active in the state. So why all the recent activity in eastern Oklahoma County instead? Good question.

Below here you’ll find two items.
1 You’ll find a complete list taken from the last 30 days of activity including dates, mags & links to original USGS recording relative to the recent Jones, Oklahoma activity. As you’ll see most of the activity has really concentrated in one area for the exception of the November 17th quake.

2 Below this you’ll find links to quite a few articles that report the same exact occurrences that have taken place here.
